Trump Criticizes Taylor Swift for Supporting Kamala Harris
Former President Donald Trump has expressed his disapproval of pop star Taylor Swift.
This came after Swift publicly supported Vice President Kamala Harris for the 2024 presidential race. Trump voiced his displeasure on Truth Social on September 15, stating, “I DISLIKE TAYLOR SWIFT!”.
The tension between them seems to have escalated since the Grammy-winning artist commented on the election following the debate held on September 10.
“Now is an ideal time to delve into research about pressing issues and understand where these candidates stand,” she wrote in a detailed Instagram post, which included a picture of her with a cat as a nod to J.D. Vance‘s “childless cat ladies” remark. “As an informed voter, I ensure that I consume all available information about their proposed strategies and plans for our nation.”
In her post, she also mentioned discovering AI-generated images of herself falsely supporting Donald Trump’s presidential campaign. She expressed her concerns about AI technology and its potential misuse in spreading false information.
“This led me to realize that I need to be completely open about my voting intentions in this election,” said the 34-year-old singer-songwriter. “The most effective way to counter false information is with facts.”
The fact being that she will be casting her vote for Harris and Tim Walz this November.
“She advocates for the rights and causes that I believe require a strong defender,” Swift stated. “I view her as a composed, talented leader and I am convinced that we can achieve much more in this country under stable leadership rather than turmoil. Her choice of running mate @timwalz, who has been advocating for LGBTQ+ rights, IVF, and women’s autonomy over their bodies for years, impressed me.”
Shortly after Swift’s public endorsement of Harris, Trump responded by comparing her to her friend Brittany Mahomes, wife of NFL player Patrick Mahomes.
“But Brittany is someone I admire,” he continued. “She’s an enthusiastic MAGA supporter and in my opinion is far superior to Taylor Swift.”
This prompted Patrick Mahomes to intervene—requesting his exclusion from this political discourse.
“I’ve always maintained that my platform should not be used to endorse any political candidate or agenda,” Mahomes told reporters. “My upbringing involved interacting with people from diverse backgrounds. The beauty of a football locker room, similar to my experience in baseball lockers, is that it brings together individuals with different perspectives to achieve a common goal.”
“When I interact with people, their political beliefs are not my concern,” the Super Bowl winner added. ”I focus on their character and how they treat others.”
Ultimately, the father of Sterling, 3, and Bronze, 20 months, prioritizes his family “and how we treat others,” he clarified. ”And Brittany’s significant contributions to the community are evident.”
